Set in a valley of 150-foot evergreen trees on the Soleduck River, families come to Sol Duc primarily for its three hot spring pools, which include a toddler pool. There is also a freshwater swimming pool with lifeguards.
Season: Mid-May through September. The hot springs are open on weekends only in April and October.
Accommodations: The resort has furnished cabins; some have kitchens. All one-room cabins have a full private bath, heat, two double beds, or two queen-size beds, a pull-out couch, and a chest of drawers.
Special Features: Massages are available. There is a family dining room, poolside deli, espresso bar, and grocery store.
Children under four stay free. Rates include use of the pools.
Spots, activities and attractions: Hiking along the well-maintained Olympic National Park trails and fishing for wild coho salmon, steelhead, and native rainbow trout.
