Signal Mountain is in the heart of the park on Jackson Lake with magnificent views of the Teton mountain range. The resort has its own marina that rents rowboats, canoes, and motor boats and assists families with arrangements for Snake River float trips and guided lake fishing.
Season: Mother's Day through the first Sunday in October. Make reservations up to eleven months in advance.
Accommodations: Log cabins with one or two rooms or lodge-style rooms set in the trees are available. Lodge-style rooms sleep up to four with two queen-size beds and a small refrigerator. Lakefront retreats sleep six people with two queen-size beds and a sofa-bed. They sit on Jackson Lake and offer views of the Teton range. If you have a large group, a family bungalow right on the waterfront is a good value, as it accommodates up to ten people and has a large deck, outdoor barbecue, living room, bedroom, and a kitchen. Bedding is included.
Special Features: Snake River float trips (adults $27, children $15), guided lake fishing ($48 per hour), rowboats and canoes $7.50 per hour, motor boats $60 per half day. There is also a restaurant and a convenience store.
Cost: The least expensive accommodations at this resort are the log cabins with one or two rooms.
